: I am in the process of replacing a 40 gal. gas water heater in a gararge (on top of an appropriate stand, : of course). I know that I need to run a 3/4" copper line down the side of the water heater from the T&P : valve to drain water in the case of an over-temp or over-pressure condition. What is the recommended : height above the floor that this drain line should end? Is there a minimum or maximum distance? : Is there a reason that I can't put a 90 degree ell on the bottom of that drain line to direct any water : toward the front of the garage (and away from the drywall?) John, John, between 1 and 6 inches, the 90 el will be fine. Terry
