: I just replaced my 19 year old RHEEM Gas Water Heater. The replacement is an A.O. Smith model FSG 50 242. : It was recommended by the plumbing company for value. : I paid $485 including installation. : I have never heard of A.O. Smith. : Does A.O. Smith have a good reputation for quality? : Is this a good brand and model for residential use, and how does it compare with other brands?, i.e. RHEEM : Thank you, Barry, have no worry, you did good. most heaters have the same 5 yr warrenty. they are a good company and stand by there products. as far as a comparison, well i still think they are all made in the same building but go out different doors with different labels on them.but thats just my thoughts.
