And will replacing the knob and the part that screws into the wall fix the leak you think? : Thanks Dale's plumbing service replaceing the knob or screw will not fix the leak. take a brand new phlips screw drive that is the same size as the screw and get a hammer. put the tip in the screw and hit the handle with the hammer.then try to unscrew it. being a strong person will help also. if that doesn't work you will have to drill it out. sounds like a delta or valley faucet. you can get parts for these at your hardware store.
