Hi there, We have a gas water heater that started losing both pilot and burner about two or three weeks ago. There was a lot of soot on the burner, and I took it out and cleaned it pretty thoroughly. Used compressed air to clean out the individual vents(?) on the burner. When I put it back in, the pilot won't stay lit (as before) and the whole thing shuts off after about two minutes of operation. I have shut off the water heater and the gas line for safety and I'm going to call in a repair service. For the sake of a second opinion, can you point to any possible solutions? Thanks!
