I live in Emerald Isle, NC and have exactly the same problem as described here. I have a common filter for the refrigerator and a drinking water spigot at the sink. The sink drinking water is fine, so I have ruled out the filter as the problem area although I have changed the two cartridges in the filter system. There is plastic pipe used from the filters to both the sink drinking water spigot and to the refrigerator, so I tended to rule that out as a problem area, too. The water from the refrigerator faucet and ice cubes is extremely foul smelling. This problem began to occur after about three and a half years of use. For what it is worth, I have a Whirlpool refrigerator. Do you have any other suggestions on how this problem can be eliminated? Thanks for any help. Jack Snyder |
