: : : We just acquired an antique claw foot tub. The interior (porcelain) of the tub is in great shape, but the exterior is pretty rusty in places: : Stuart, : : In the phone book under "bathtubs, Repair & Refinish" will be listings for Refinishing. : : They will know exactly how to fix up that old claw foot tub. : : A good link on claw foot tub, is http://www.a-ball.com : : Ask for their catalog. : : Regards, : : Terry There are lots of places (well, several, at least) that can sell me a new footed tub, but I have not yet been able to find anyone who can actually reporcelain one. All of the refinishers use some kind of epoxy or plastic-based process, and that will last 5-10 years, with care. I want a porcelain enamel glaze that will last another 100 years, for the tub in my 1895 house. And that tub has paw feet, not clawfeet, and those paws are mounted oddly so I cannot just bolt them on a new tub. Any advice will be welcome. mh
