: I just purchased a home and I am "repair illiterate." I wish to replace the old shower head in the master : bedroom with a new one. The original owner apparently used some sort of epoxy or cement to connect : the head to the shower pipe. Is there an easy way to disconnect something like that? Is there a : chemical that dissolves that sort of bond? just take a 12" pipe wrench and take the pipe out of the wall and go to your hard ware and get a new one. use pipe dope on the male threads of the new pipe (chrome shower arm.) use a rag on the shower arm when you put it back in or take the handle of a pair of channel locks and put it up in the shower arm and tighten it. hope this helps. |
