Do these things actually work? They seem greatly overpriced for what they are, but if they work, they might be worth it. I recall, in the 1940's my father installed a pot-bellied union gadget on a commercial size water heater coil to stop deposits from clogging. Before using this gadget the coil had to be replaced at least once a year. After the gadget was installed, no clogging. Inside the union was a chise edged bar of metal. I don't know how it worked. Neither did the plumber that installed it. He did guarantee that it would work, though, and it did. |
