In response to Re: get rid of antique clawfoot tub, or not?
: Thinking of getting rid of our 1924 cast iron clawfoot tub. Hard to clean underneath. Shower surround "tubing" hanging from ceiling is ugly. Have new pedastal sink. Thinking of replacing with new tub (acrylic?) and the 3-wall surround. Had wanted to find a better looking shower surround kit for the clawfoot, but all are "megabucks". Any suggestions? Also, when installing new tub/3-wall surround, does the shower head go against a wall of the room? Can you help. We're confused.

as long as you do not put the faucet and shower head on an outside wall you should be ok.i put the faucet at 30" off floor and shower head at 77" but it can be put wherever it's good for you also.
