We just purchased a home 10 months ago and had a flood in the house. The main outside line broke and flooded everything inside. The insurance company sent a plumber to repair the pipe. He told us this pipe was polybutylene and they would not repair it because it was not covered. This pipe was not disclosed when we bought the house. The leak has been fixed temporarily and is classified as a pre-existing condition. How can we get this pipe replaced without being responsible for the charges it will incur? We had no prior knowledge to it's existance. I welcome any and all suggestions.
