Make sure that when you have done the things that Bud has suggested, really the only way. Leave a faucet open to allow the hot expanding air a place to escape besides the joint you are soldering. Terry

: Don:--No magic or tricks for your pipe repair. You must get the water out of the piping if you plan to solder the pipe or fitting. You may wish to use comprssion fitings to make your repair if soldering is not your forte. Sometimes the easiest way to make the repair, is to cut out all the affected fittings or joints and start from scratch after thoroughly draining all the wa wa from the piping (and it's alot less frustrating).
