hard water and galvanized pipe

hi, I just purchased a home in Southern CA. The water here is from limestone wells and has about 25 grains of mineral content. Unfortunately the home has galvanized pipe throughout. I don't see a pressure drop in any of the faucets as yet, but I am worried about the future. Do you suggest that I repipe the house and/or purchase a good water softner? Thanks for the assistance.
