You will be better off, adding a vent within 42" of the tub p-trap. Adding height to the toilet vent will have little effect. Terry
: The vent pipe in my seconf floor bathroom does not go straight up as the comode sits in a dormer space below a window(Cape Cod house),THe pipe is offset and I get a septic odor after bath water drains. I assume the water siphons out of the trap.Can I extend the pipe and improve the situation?
