Hello my name is Pamela. I'm a first time buyer of a two-level townhouse in dale city, VA This is my first home and I have only lived her for 2 years (this past May. May dream of owning a home is turning out to be my nigtmare. I've had several links in my home (kitchen, utility closet)had to replace all carpet downstairs, the foyer and kitchen floor. I understand my water pipe problems are caused by this "quest Polybutylene piping in my home. I filed a claim with my home oweners insurance of which they paid for the damages, however not the repair of the pipes. Later I received a letter in the mail, that my home insurance had cancelled me after ONE claim. I searched for home insurance for months. I was able to get another home policy (which was very expensive). I understand in the state of VA you are only allowed to hav 2 water damage claims and a insurance company can drop you. That's doesn't seem right. Now I'm faced with the same problem I encountered about 6 months ago, another water link, again in the kitchen and utility room. As we speak, my pipes are linking water. It's about 1:00 am, late on a Labor day( early tuesday morning. I suppose the only thing I can do is call a plumber and pay out of pocket. My new carpet is soak and wet again. I have to do something. Please advise if there is anyway I can get some help in seeking info to get these quest polybutylene pipes replaced/repaired. My home was build in 1984, so I'm not sure if it is too late to get any assistance. Thanks for your response. Pamela E.
