Carlton, Yes it can leak. Get a flange with a rubber compression ring or one the new flanges that fit inside the four inch cast pipe and tighten with set screws. Terry : I have remodeled my bath and not yet installed flooring. I have had to : remove the old toilet cast iron flange. I need to install a new : one. The old one was attached and sealed with lead. : Do they make a replacement for the iron pipes? I found : one at Home Depot but it fits loosely around the pipe. : I can bolt it to the floor but there will be a small : gap around the pipe. Will this gap cause a leak even with : the wax ring?
