If it were not for that water, you would get a lot of odor from the shower. That water is replaced every time you run water in the shower,so it is not the source of the odor. The more likely source is the pipe between the water and the shower drain. : I use a shower in the bottom floor of a bi-level everyday. It drains fine but looking down the drain I see water sitting in the drain : This standing water adds a slight odor to the bathroom. How can I get rid of this problem. Thanks
