We recently (in Jan.) bought a doublewide on some land that is fitted throughout with black Qest polybutylene pipe. We have a leak in the bathroom under the tub that is causing the water to gather and wet the underlying floorboard as well as go into the next room floorboard. The sheetrock along side the tub feels as though it is wet as well. We had a family member come over from Dallas who had to replace all his pipes (same kind) in his home up in Dallas. Qest reimbursed him for his replumb. He encouraged us to find this website and see what could be done. He recommends replacing all the pipe. Our house was built in 1995. We don't know any other history. Does anyone have any advice on what we should do? Should we replace all the piping? If so, will we get reimbursed by the lawsuit or are will we have to just take it as out-of-pocket expenses? We are new to all this so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
