What's considered "Water-Resistant Wall Material" now?

I am installing a Kohler Sonata Acrylic shower module by myself. The instructions specify installing "Water-Resistant Wall Material" next to the enclosure.

Am I okay to just install green-gypsum-wallboard and paint this, or install the newer concrete "wonder board" types and tile over this? How does painting over "wonder board" look?

Also, what material should be placed on the outside stud walls surrounding the enclosure? Someone suggested this interior would encourage the growth of mildew and mold because the acrylic surface might sweat due the the different building materials used for framing and finishing? True or false?

Any other suggestions?

Dennis
