There was a magazine article in UK 'Interiors' magazine featuring a handmade bath with mozaic and it looked as though it was constructed from a type of concrete and then surface finished. I don't see why this should be so difficult. Let me know if you have sourced this problem yet as I would like to construct a freeform tub as well.
