If you install the seats as an addition to the shower so that the safety pan goes all the way to the wall behind the seat, then a leak does not create a problem. If the pan only goes to the seat, then the leak can occur outside of it and come into the room. : : I have heard that shower seats can leak--we are considering installing a seat (using ceramic tile) in our new bathroom and are wondering if this is a wise idea. Any thoughts?
