|In response to Re: drain tile and sump pumps|
: we are building our first new house and would like a general overview on how the drain tile and sump pump system work. also can you fill us in on what is the most preferred outside coating on new foundation walls (tar or drylock).our walls will be poured. thank you
I do waterproofing for a living and we spray tar on the outside walls, and hang drainage board over that. Then we draintile the outside of the house, covering it with rock. There should be tile going through the footings going from the outside to the inside of the house, so the water runs through the outside drain tile into the house, wich we also draintile. The water runs through the inside draintile and into the sump. This works very good, we do it and we give a 20 year gaurinty on our work.
