Can we bypass the anti scald ourselves/ without involving the plumber? : Could you e mail me incase I forget to come back and check the message boards? : Thanks I also have an American Standard mixer in my shower and you can adjust the HOT SAFETY LOCK by removing the handle, cap, and hot limit stop. You should see a black plastic ring (protruding) which makes up part of the hat water limit stop. Pry this ring out towards you, and rotate it clockwise to a click or two and then push it back into place. This is all there is to it.
