: We have an unfinished Daylight basement (1968) that has great exposure to all of our galvanized pipes. We are debating wheather or not it is worth the expense to change over to copper before we sheet rock over it. Any advice? we also heard that you can replace only the horizontal galvanized pipes with copper and that would be fine

When you mix and match copper and galvanized pipes you are increasing the chance of problems.
The two metals do not like each other. The Galvanized pipes that are left will quickly get worse.

I would replace the pipes before drywalling the ceiling. Terry
