Had a plumber replace the pressure control valve which drops the 90psi pressure from the main down to 55psi(recommended by our water district) for the house. Problem solved. We now have better water pressure than we have ever had (5 years owning the house). He said the noises I was hearing were not air in the lines, but rather the valve failing. It was when the noises became really bad I decided to bleed out the air. This coincided with the valve giving up the ghost. I basically wasted a weekend chasing the wrong ghost. $340 later (ouch) and a little wiser, I hope. Robert
