You need to find the rubber gasket that came with the shower head. That will seal the leak and also let you turn the head in the correct direction : I recently bought a new showerhead and shower arm. There is a leak where the shower arm connects to the water pipe. Now I can't even use the shower. What can I do? Also, when threading the shower arm on, it doesn't get tight until about an eighth of a turn after pointing down in the right direction. That is, it points to the inside wall of the tub, rather than straight down. I can't tighten it any more than about a quarter turn past that. Do I just need to find a different shower arm? Help, I really want to use my shower again!!
