Around here, that is the procedure, except that it is only enforced for commercial sites. Residences do not register their valves so there is no follow up on them. If the valve is registered with the city, then you will get yearly notices to have it inspected.
: I was told by the irrigation company that installed my front yard sprinkler system that the PVB valve must be inspected annually or the water company will cut off my city water supply. They want $50 a year to inspect and say you must be "certified" to inspect. Heard anything about such requirements? Thanks
