I am trying to replace the bathrub drain. The drain broke off inside the tub. How can I get it out? Thanks for your help. Jean O'Leary

: I put a tub/shower in my basement and left a rather tight fit for the drain underneath. The recess I have in the concrete floor forces me to install the drain by turning the drain inside the tub rather than the elbow underneath the tub. I'm using a Moen PVC drain/overflow setup. I thought I might have a problem with the drain leaking due to the putty not sealing, but that part is fine. The problem is the gasket between the elbow and the underside of the tub leaking slightly (between the gasket and the tub).

: Any suggestions? I'll try reinstalling this and then I'll probably check a brass drain/overflow to see if I can rotate the elbow before I install the nipple onto the elbow, but I'm wondering if there's a drain/overflow available that secures the drain to the elbow some other way, like with a nut from above on a stud inside the elbow.

: This is for National fiberglass tub. Enlarging the concrete recess would be a last resort as the tub is on a mortar base.
