Seattle inspectors disallowing dielectric unions?

During a complete repipe, I used dielectric unions to connect some new copper to the galvanized plumbing that supplies the kitchen faucets. (I didn't want to demolish the tile backsplash to run copper all the way to the facuets). The Seattle plumbing inspector is requiring me to remove the dielectric unions and replace them with brass couplings so that the faucets and existing galvanized will be grounded. What's up with this? Was this an improper place to use dielectrics, or are inspectors changing their thinking on this issue?
