You will have to check the flow curves for the specific pump. 1/2 h.p. pumps are not generic. They can be made to supply high volume and lower pressure, or vice versa. : I have a new well 110 ft deep (pump setting will be 100 ft) with a straight 100 ft horizontal run from well head to pressure tank with a 30/50 pressure switch. The well produces 10 GPM. My question is will a 1/2 HP 10 GPM submersible pump satisfy the cut-off on the pressure switch or should I use a 3/4 HP or 1 HP pump instead.
