Elias:--Your post didn't mention what type heater you have...I will assume that the noisey heater is a gas fired model. The noise is caused by the implosion of steam bubbles at the bottom of the heater. Cleaning the mineral crud from the bottom of the heater will go a long way toward reducing or eliminating this noise. It is all but impossible to clean the heater by using the stupid little ineffective drain cock at the bottom of the heater. Get a full flow 3/4" ball valve...a 3/4" nipple 3" long and a 3/4"MIP X 3/4" Male hose thread adapter. If you replace the drain cock, you may have good luck in getting rid of the stuff in the bottom of your tank, and the noises as well....Akmed
