I recently bought a house built in 1926 that has low water pressure throughout. For example, if you flush the toliet, the pressure in the bathroom sink drops off.
The line running from the street to the house appears to be 3/4 inch galvanized steel. The prior owner replaced the piping inside the house with 3/4 and 1/2 inch Flow Guard Gold. The 3/4 serves as the main line inside the house. The 1/2 inch runs to the various fixtures (sinks, spigots, toliet, shower, washing machine).
What are some of the reasons I could be experiencing low pressure and what can I do to fix the problem?
