Well, the most obvious one would be that you would lose the "air gap". Air gaps devices for dishwashers are meant to maintain a gap between the top (or flood level) of the sink and the discharge from the dishwasher. The reason for the physical "gap" is to prevent the waste from the kitchen sink to back siphon into your dishwasher. Some people use a "Johnson tee" for an air gap and point the air break on them outside. Most people don't notice a little 3/4" PVC cap with a 1/4" hole drilled in it on the side of the home.
