You are worrying too much, but if you want to solder it in, clean and apply flux to both threads before assemling it. : I have a Moen single-lever shower/tub faucet with threaded fittings. For the inlet lines, I'd like to solder the fittings, as they are sitting under pressure all the time. Can I just screw a standard threaded to sweat fitting into the valve body, push the copper pipe into the fitting, and solder the whole thing? (I will remove the cartridge first). Or am I worrying too much about a threaded fitting?
