|In response to Re: Rubber gasket or wax seal?|
: I have seen this question posted before, and did a search to see the various replies. If I am correct, It seems that most of the people responding feel the rubber gasket is preferred over the wax seal.
: I have a "converted closet-bathroom" with a toilet near a forced air vent. I guess this would also be an arguement for the rubber.
: Are there any dissenting reasons for wax out there.
As a manufacturer of the bowl wax gaskets, they last forever as long as the bolts are kept tight so the toilet bowl does not rock. Unless the heat coming out of the vent reaches over 160 degrees, you will never have to worry about it melting. Just my $.02 worth.
