You are also not the first one to have the problem. Since the cold water has slightly higher pressure than the hot water system the cold water crosses over and in a truly bad situation, will dilute the hot water by the time it reaches the last apartments to the point they have cold or lukewarm water. One complex had to have Mixet make oversized stems so they would seal in the bodies better. There is also a company that makes a replacement stem that is supposed to eliminate the crossover.
