My electric hot water tank leaks about a cup of water from the T/P valve just at the end of the heat cycle. I replaced the valve and it still does it. It's not temperature, the water at the tap at end of cycle is just 120 degrees. I put a pressure valve on the tank drain and, sure enough, it hits 150 psi just at the end of the heat cycle. If someone opens a tap at this time the pressure immediatly drops to about 75 psi, which is the pressure of the public water supply. Shouldn't the tank pressure just equalize with the public system? What's up? How do I fix it? |
