: i have a strange custom sized stall shower. the lead pan leaked 3 years ago and i replaced it all--new board, lead, tiles. the works. cost me $3500 to do the job and what a mess. it is leaking again. i would rather replace the base with a custom made acrylic base, put right over the existing floor. any one know any company that can do this for me? any other ideas? I don't think that's a good idea, and I don't think it can even be done. What I know is that shower pan replacement is an insurance concern. Your homeowner's insurance will defray at least a portion of the cost, depending on your deductible. Lead pans are a thing of the past as far as I'm concerned. I've been using PVC for nearly 30 years and have never had a problem with them. CPE is also good, although hard to find usually. |
