Just sweat solder it on being certain that no solder flows into threads. Use pipe thread sealer, either paste or tape, and tighten into alignment. The copper will stretch to permit lining things up. It would be best to use a slotted box end wrench, such as a tubing wrench, to hold the fitting while tightening the fawcett. This kind of wrench spreads the stress evenly around the 'nut' permitting a better seal. This stretching will prevent re-use of the fitting should you take it apart after initial installation. The diamonds are the manufacturers 'brand' marks. If you screw up, just unsolder the joint and use a new one. Just don't start the wall afire!!!!!
