MY 20 YEAR OLD OIL FURNACE WORKS NORMALLY FOR THE FIRST CYCLE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. AFTER THE FIRST CYCLE WHEN ROOM TEMP HAS SUFFICIENTLY DROPPED, FURNACE RESTARTS OK BUT NOW STARTS A BUZZING SOUND FROM A CONTROL BOX (HONEYWELL) RELAY. THEN WITHIN A MINUTE OR SO, BURNER SHUTS OFF. IF I HOLD THE RELAY CLOSED WITH MY FINGER, BURNER STAYS ON FOR REST OF CYCLE...IF I LET GO, BURNER KICKS OFF. IF I LEAVE IT ALONE AND THE ROOM TEMP DROPS WAY DOWN AND THE FURNACE IS ABSOLUTELY COLD, IT GOES BACK TO FIRST CYCLE STATUS AGAIN AND WORKS JUST FINE........WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR??????? BURNER IS EQUIPPED WITH EXCELLENT FILTRATION AND WATER SEPARATOR, FUEL SYSTEM HEATER TO PREVENT ICING, NEW NOZZLE, AND PROPERLY GAPPED ELECTRODES, AND BURNS CLEAN WITH PROPER DRAFT.
