Calcium buildup on plastic

I work with company that serviced espresso machines. Some machines come equipped with a plastic automatic milk frothing device which if not properly cleaned on a daily basis, builds up calcium to such an extent that blockage can occur. Until now I have loosened the deposit with a citric acid solution and scraped the plastic parts with a small metal tool.
My question is, does anyone know of a stronger acid that would perhaps totally dissolve the calcium yet not harm the plastic. I thought maybe muriatic acid or phosphoric acid, but am hesitant to try without some advice. Thanks
