Mitch:--There are half a dozen or so plastic pipe manufacturers, each states his product is best.
Copper is not subject to embrittlement with age. Copper is not easily gnawed asunder by fun loving field mice or other toothy Varmits. Copper has considerable mechanical stability when installed correctly. I'm not really down on plastic piping, but I sure have replaced an awful lot of it over the years.
Copper is not without spot or blemish, Copper can stand a little help in dealing with the corrosive effects of the water that passes through the piping. This issue is easily dealt with by incorporating a little help for your Copper Piping in the form of a sacrificial anode.
Copper can and should be able to provide good solid service for the life of the building that it is installed in with a little assist.
