If you disassembled the gas valve, throw it away and buy a new one. If you just disconnected the pipes, then the pilot assembly is probably plugged and you can also buy a new one of those. : My pilot assembly does not let gas through. I disassembled the valve and if turned counterclockwise 1/8 " past the stop and pushed in the gas flows.(with the valve cover removed) Do I need to replace the valve or is their some way to clean it. It has not been used in several years.
