|In response to Re: Installing dishwasher where sink is not next to it.|
: What are the possibilities for installing a dishwasher not next to a sink for drainage. ( The sink is 90 degrees from the dishwasher.) The counter will be U-Shaped. Sink at the bottom of the U.
: Can we avoid drilling holes through the new cabinets to run the drain? Can we run the drain under the floor, then back up to the disposal under the sink?
: Please help, thank you in advance.
I guess can do whatever you want to, but it won't work. The drain hose should be run in a high loop to the underside of the counter top or through an air gap fitting to prevent backflow of waste water into the dishwasher. If you run it below the floor, it will quickly fill with debris.
