|In response to Re: water softener repair kit|
By the time you pay for the resin, remove the softener to dump the old resin and stones out, check the distribution system for ruptures, and then put everything back together again, you will normally be better off replacing the softener. Especially since the plastic distributors could break shortly thereafter.
: I have a water softener that, after 13 years, is no longer softening as it did. I suspect that the ion-exchange resin in the main tank is worn out. Is there a source for resin replacement kits? The balance of the system is in excellent shape and I am loathe to spend $400-$500 to replace the entire system when it is only the resin that needs replacement.
