You probably have hair rotting in the drain, just out of sight. You need to remove the cover over the drain and pull the hair glob out. A coathanger wire might be needed to reach around the corner and get it all. I say this, assuming that you are not getting sewer gas back through a dry trap. If you have run water through the drain in the last week, it probably is not dry, so this would not be the problem. - John

I say this, assuming that you are not getting sewer gas back through a dry trap. If you have run water through the drain in the last week, it probably is not dry, so this would not be the problem.
