What should I replace my Kohler Rosario with?

This toilet is listed on Mr. Love's Consumer Toilet Report as having "great looks." That might be true, but it doesn't flush very well. So I'd like to replace it with something that works better. It has to fit, though: the Rosario barely fits next to the vanity, and it is about 18" at its widest point. The vanity top extends out over the toilet tank, with a clearance to the floor of 31" -- so the toilet should be substantially shorter than this. Any recommendations?
