As far as the bench is concerned, Iv'e never seen one framed out of wood that didn't leak. We build them out of masonry, i.e, bricks, blocks, using cement products only. They sit like monuments inside the shower pan. I imagine they leak like hell but the water going through them is caught in the pan and chanelled down the drain.

You had better get someone out there who knows what he's doing. Where are you located?
