When the dryer is off, warm moist air from inside the house is comming in contact with cold outside air and condensing. Since your dryer vent is sloped towards the home interior (from your description)the consensation is running down the dryer vent and collecting at the lowers point. If you slope the last few feet so that the condensation will run outside, the problem will be solved.


: Hi all, well the subject says it all. My dryer vent is leaking water, I used metal pipe with furnace tape, no screws! The current set up runs from dryer outlet up 6 feet then sharp left 90, sloping upward pitch toward sill about 7 feet then out. Any suggestions, it just got cold here in Michigan.
