Lowering Toilet Flange

I am in the process of remodeling a bathroom. I had to remove approximately 1" of leveling mud that was under the ceramic tile. Since I am retiling so that the toilet area and the vanity area are the same height, I now have toilet flange that sits about 1.5" above the foundation concrete. I know that there are replacement PVC flanges. But what I do not know how to do is, how do I go about cutting the cast iron commode pipe flange level with the floor? What kind of tool/saw would I use? I have yet to find ANY information on how to do this.
