I'm a tile contractor, and I don't want to pre-empt the plumbers here (I know they'll have some qualms about the copper). I suspect, though, that you'll have a problem with moisture accumulating behind the copper through condensation, since it will be directly against the wall. I also know you'll have one hell of a problem with oxidation. As far as water-tightness is concerned, there was a time when copper was used for shower pan liners, but it didn't catch on. Lead worked better, and now PVC has taken the lead. John
